5th Grade Science
We have been busy learning about matter and its properties. We have learned the difference between a physical change and a chemical change. Now we are moving ahead to explore electricity. We will investigate static electricity, current electricity and electromagnatism in this next topic of study. There are lots of fun activities coming. Please try to be present every day so you don’t miss out on the fun.
Fifth Grade is privileged to be able to have 4-H come to our class once a month to bring us Agri-Science lessons. Our next 4-H class meeting will be March 19. OUR COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT for 4-H community is to help raise money for the Ronald McDonald House. We do so by collecting aluminum pop tabs from drink cans and food cans made of aluminum. These are taken by our county 4-H leader to be recycled and the money obtained from these is donated to the Ronald McDonald House. So please SAVE your pop tabs and send them in with your child. Each of my 5 classes are competing to see you can collect the most. At the end of April, the class collecting the most pop tabs will receive an ice cream party. You can learn more about 4-H by clicking on the link “Pickens County 4-H”.
